Overview of Carbide Grades

CKi®06 (K 6 UF)

Fine grain grade for rotating carbide tools with excellent resistance to wear and cutting edges of high mechanical resistance. For the machining of non-ferrous metal, Al-alloys, composites and complex materials. This grade is specially suited for diamond coating.

CKi®08 (K 20 F)

Universally applicable micrograin grade with high resistance to wear and cutting edges of high mechanical resistance. Appropriate for rotating tools for the machining of grey cast iron, chilled cast iron, hardened steel, hard Al alloys, plastics with fillers, glass fibre reinforced plastics and brake pads.

CKi®09 (K 55 SF)

The CKi®09 grade takes account of the rising demand of our customers for a carbide with higher resistance to wear and nevertheless considerable toughness. The cobalt content of nine percent furthermore enables successful use in dry machining and with very abrasive composite materials.
The important thing here is, that this material can develop its full performance and superiority only if the cutting data are significantly higher in comparison with conventional carbide grades. Cki®09 is made of superfine tungsten carbide and significantly surpasses our previous grades in hardness without losing in toughness.

CKi®10 (K 40 UF)

Sub-micrograin with high toughness and hardness, thus highly recommendable for rotating tools for the machining of hardened parts.
Recommended for roughing and finishing with good mechanical stability of the edges and high toughness. Appropriate for rotating tools for the machining of titanium alloys, heat-resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel grades, grey cast iron and glass fibre reinforced plastics.

CKi®12 (K 44 UF)

Sub-micrograin with extreme toughness and hardness, thus very recommendable for highspeed cutting of hard materials. Very good mechanical stability of the edges under very difficult cutting conditions. Appropriate for rotating tools for the machining of titanium alloys, heat-resistant alloys, austenitic stainless steel grades, grey cast iron and glass fibre reinforced plastics.
